Principle 1 Perceivable · Guideline 1.1: Text Alternatives
1.1.1 Non-text Content
Anything that is not text needs a text alternative – images, icons, charts, controls.
What this means in practice
Every image needs an alt attribute. If it carries information, describe that information; if it is purely decorative, leave it empty (alt="") so screen readers skip it. A file name is not a description. For charts, put the message into text, not the appearance.
What Libration Accessibility contributes
